About the MC
Q: What does it mean to be “Pro Blak”?
It’s for the betterment of our culture. When I say “our” I mean the hip hop culture, people who came from broken homes or impoverished communities. It’s really just a voice for the voiceless and representing those who are forgotten about.
Q: Who are your musical influences?
I have so many influences so it’s tough to name just a few. Nas, Tupac, Big Pun, DMX, B.I.G, Eminem, Michael Jackson, James Brown, Outkast, U.G.K.,Rick James Bitch! Bobby Womack, Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, Twista, Bone Thugs,Dead Prez, Jay-Z, Goodie Mob, T.I, and Do or Die to name a few.
Q: Why music? Why now?
There is a need for something of substance to be out right now. Something that is thought provoking, and Lord willin’ I can be that person to deliver that.
Q: Who’s in your Ipod these days?
I still listen to cd’s. I’m a diehard. But, I would have to say the new Raekwon, Slaughterhouse, and Best of Sade are in heavy rotation right now.
Q: What do you want your impact on the music industry/world
to be?
When it’s all said and done I want people to be able to say that Pro Blak pushed the envelope and he gave fuck. He Gave a fuck about his music, city, and people in general. That’s what I would want on my tombstone. Here lies Pro Blak He wasn’t perfect, but that nigga gave a fuck hahahaha!
